Speech Therapy for swallowing can help! The Speech Language Pathologist will complete a evaluation to determine the potential cause, location of difficulty, and treatment methods.
Treatment of swallowing disorders includes education of safety strategies, possible food modifications, exercises that are based on the patients impairments and imaging such as a FEES or MBSS. An MBSS or FEES is necessary to determine exactly where the impairment is as well as if further consults are necessary.
