What is Aphasia?
Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder as a result of a stroke, TBI or other neurologic conditions. A person with aphasia may have difficulty with speaking, listening, reading and writing. Aphasia does not impact a persons intelligence.
Symptoms May Include

Difficulty with thinking of words
Leaving out is the in a sentence
Speak in short sentences
Substituting words or saying the wrong word.

Needing more time to process and understand speech.
Answering yes/no questions inconsistently
Following conversations
Difficulty with answering questions.

Having difficulty recognizing words or numbers, which may impact your ability to add, recognize money and pay bills.
Trouble reading or writing
words or sentences.
Writing sentences with incorrect grammar.
